We know that you may have many questions about how the process works, costs and overall timeline. Since you are not alone, we have listed some of the most common questions we get asked along the way. The questions are filtered into categories such as; process, pricing and expectations.

We offering all of our clients a Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement that is signed by both parties to protect the intellectual property discussed in the entire process. This enables open discussion without any concern about your idea getting stolen. We are in the business of helping our clients be successful and with that in mind, confidentiality is very important to us.

Many of our clients come to us with the specific needs of helping in an area they are not familiar with and we are glad to assist. It is not uncommon to have Odyssey Solutions play a contributing role and to work with other outside teams to get your project off the ground. Our pricing is based on an a la carte model and you can come in and leave at any point without any long term commitment.

Every project is different in its complexity and what is needed to get the product to market-ready status. We have completed projects from design through to manufacturing in as little as 6 weeks. Again this depends heavily on the project. The quicker we get the project discussed the better we can put a plan together.

Every project requires its own level of development work and time. As a result the individual cost is very much dependent on what is needed. Our process is priced in an a la carte model allowing you to spread out the cost to make it more convenient to you. We know that you have other obligations and we don’t want to make this process too complicated.

Most of our services require an upfront 50% deposit to initialize that specific phase. We process all payments either via cash, check or through Paypal Invoicing. Paypal Invoicing allows you to use you credit card in a secure manner.

All services are explained in detail prior to providing the invoice. Once the invoice is approved an initial payment is made, the project is now a contractual agreement between two parties. At the conclusion of that particular phase, you are required to complete the payment prior to receiving any documents (drawings, images or other). This is referred to “transfer for copyright”. Odyssey Solutions is in no way obligated to delivery the agreed upon documents for anything less than the agreed upon value.

Prototyping is a process that utilizes many manufacturing methods such as; 3D printing, lathe turning, milling, etc,… These processes have their own level of finishing and appearances which may not look identical to the finished product. The purpose of prototyping is to build, test and validate the design. It is not intended to create a production-level product.

3D printing is a rather new process that extrudes liquid plastic in layers across a grid space. The slow building of these plastic layers creates the products that was designed in 3D modeling. The nature of this method leaves fine visible layers that can later be sanded and smoothed. The downside to this style of prototyping is that is time consuming and the resultant product lacks the structural strength of other options such as machining.

We are not licensed Patent Attorney’s or Patent Agents, we simply help you in authoring the patent application components and instruct you how to submit the application. Since the patent process is subjective and requires the interpretation of a US Patent Examiner, there are no guarantees whatsoever. During the patent review process we will gladly assist in the rebuttal preparation and review of the Examiner’s findings.
